Pokémon Farm Co-op Setup

Just go top to bottom and press the buttons. About 15 minutes.

Everyone playing together needs the exact same mods. So every player does all four phases below. Skip a required mod and you won't be able to join each other — that's the only way this breaks.

1

Get the game

This button opens Steam and starts installing Stardew Valley. Pick any drive, click Install.

Install Stardew Valley↓

Button did nothing? You need Steam first — get Steam here, then come back. Don't own the game yet? buy it here (~$15).

When it finishes: open the game once from Steam, let it reach the title screen, then quit. (This makes Steam finish its setup.)

2

Install SMAPI (the thing that runs mods)

This button downloads SMAPI straight from its official source.

Download SMAPI↓

Then, exactly this:

  1. Find the downloaded SMAPI-4.5.2-installer.zip (usually in your Downloads).
  2. Right-click it → Extract All → Extract.
  3. Open the folder that pops out, and double-click install on Windows.bat.
  4. A black window opens. Type 1 and press Enter. When it says it's done, close it.

Windows may warn "Windows protected your PC" → click More info → Run anyway. SMAPI is safe; that warning shows for anything not sold in the Store.

3

Install the mods

For each button below: it opens the mod page in a new tab → click the gray “Manual Download” button, then the “Download” button (a free Nexus account is needed — make one, it's quick). You'll get a .zip.

Every mod zip goes into one folder. Here's its location — click Copy, then paste it into the File Explorer address bar:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\Mods

For each zip: right-click → Extract All, then drag the folder that comes out into that Mods folder. One folder per mod. (If a folder has another folder inside with the same name, use the inner one.)

Required — get all four

SpaceCoreDownload ↗ Engine the Pokémon mod is built on. Content PatcherDownload ↗ Lets content & art mods work. Generic Mod Config MenuDownload ↗ In-game settings screen for your mods. Pelipper Town 🐦Download ↗ The main event — Pokémon in the valley.

Nice extras — optional, grab any you like

These just make the game nicer. They don't have to match between players.

NPC Map LocationsDownload ↗ See where every villager is on the map. Better CraftingDownload ↗ Nicer crafting; build from nearby chests. Fast AnimationsDownload ↗ Skip slow eating/fishing animations.

Play together

  1. In Steam, click Play on Stardew Valley. A little menu asks how to launch — pick “StardewModdingAPI” (NOT the plain game).
  2. A black window opens first (that's the mods loading), then the game starts. Normal.
  3. One person hosts: Co-op → Host → start or load a farm, set cabins.
  4. Host shares the invite code (or invites friends on Steam). Everyone else: Co-op → Join → enter the code.

As long as everyone did Phase 3, you'll all land in the same Pokémon-filled valley.

Something's not working?
  1. Can't join your friend? Someone's missing a required mod or has a different version. Compare the four required mods — they must match.
  2. Mods didn't load? You clicked the plain game, not “StardewModdingAPI”. Hit Play again and pick the right one.
  3. Black window shows red text? It names the mod that's unhappy — usually re-download that one. SpaceCore and Content Patcher must be installed for Pelipper Town to work.
  4. Can't find the Mods folder? In Steam, right-click Stardew Valley → Manage → Browse local files, then open the Mods folder there.
